Yaizu-City, Shizuoka Prefecture A bussling Yaizu port and the scenery of its quiet sea with its variable seasonal faces. |
| I was born in Januray of 1959 in Shizuoka Prefecture. After graduating from college, I joined a construction company. I enjoy visiting unique places and have been to Angkor Wat, Borobudur, Hsian, Turfun of the Great Wall of China (the Uighur district), Bangkok, and Ayutthaya. I love to visit these ruins. I have won the Shiseido Prize, and the Grand Prize in Interior twice, from Katei Gaho Magazine published by Sekaibunka-sha. My hobbies include art appreciation, Japanese tea ceremony, motor cycles, and PC's. I have a wife and a 6 year old daughter. |
| About the area:
The Yaizu port is located in the center of Shizuoka Prefecture and is famous for tuna fishing. The stirring mikoshi, the portable shrine used in our port festival, is also famous. The Ookuzure coast that borders Shizuoka City has a overhanging precipice like the Rias coast. The coast can appear so mysterious at times. I want to report on the bustle of the port, the quiet of the sea and its changing seasons, and the tenderness that lies in the midst of human activity. |
